NYSE and Nasdaq holiday schedule, closures
When a market holiday falls on a weekend, the NYSE and Nasdaq are closed on the nearest weekday.
According to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Independence Day is a federal holiday. With July 4 falling on Saturday this year, both the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the holiday.
Here are the New York Stock Exchange holiday closures for the rest of the year. Nasdaq follows the same schedule:
- Independence Day: Closed (Observed Friday, July 3)
- Labor Day: Closed (Monday, Sept. 7)
- Thanksgiving Day: Closed (Thursday, Nov. 26; closes at 1 p.m. ET Nov. 27)
- Christmas Day: Closed (Friday, Dec. 25; closes at 1 p.m. ET Dec. 24)
Regular NYSE trading hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
