Announced today (Wednesday) during the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water Fall Conference at the Grand Wayne Center, this victory underscores the consistent quality of City Utilities’ water.
The award-winning water emerges from the highly acclaimed Three Rivers Filtration Plant, where up to 72 million gallons of water are produced daily. The plant delivers crystal-clear, great-tasting water through a nearly 1,500-mile network of pipes, serving homes and businesses in northeast Indiana. Earlier this year, City Utilities was one of four regional winners, which allowed it to compete for the statewide honor. Judges assessed clarity, odor, and taste to determine the Best Tasting winner.
“The Alliance’s competition is not just a celebration of great-tasting water; it serves as a reminder of the stringent regulatory standards that water utilities must meet and the trust our customers place in our ability to provide high-quality water,” said Kumar Menon, Director of City Utilities. “Our streak of successes showcases the exceptional teamwork and attention to detail at the Three Rivers Filtration Plant, and the teamwork between our treatment facilities staff and engineering teams, setting a high bar for water utilities throughout Indiana.”
