US Stock Market Highlights: US stocks closed mixed on Friday (April 10), with the S&P 500 edging down 0.12% while still remaining on course for a strong weekly advance, as market participants tracked developments around the fragile two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.35%, supported by strength in semiconductor stocks including Nvidia and Broadcom. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, however, declined 269 points, or 0.56%.

Despite the late-week softness, broader indices posted solid weekly gains. The S&P 500 is up more than 3% for the week and is set for its strongest weekly performance since November. The Nasdaq has climbed over 4%, also tracking its best week since November, while the Dow is up about 3% week-to-date.

Separately, President Donald Trump accused Iran of “short term extortion of the World by using International Waterways,” posting on Truth Social that its leadership “don’t seem to realize they have no cards” and that “the only reason they are alive today is to negotiate!”
