A well-known Wilmington bed and breakfast is currently in the running for a USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Award.
C. W. Worth House Bed and Breakfast, located at 412 S. Third St., is currently featured among a list of the best 20 bed and breakfasts nationwide.
The Wilmington inn excelled in last year’s competition, taking home first place. One of the draws of the Queen Anne-style home is that visitors can “temporarily feel like a local,” according to the USA TODAY description.
Voting for the 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards ends Aug. 5 at noon. A final list of the top 10 winners will be announced on Aug. 14 at noon. Votes can be submitted once per day.
The bed and breakfast originally opened for business in 1985, according to previous StarNews reporting, making it the longest-running bed and breakfast in Wilmington.

The property is currently on the market with an asking price of approximately $2.4 million. The home spans nearly 7,000 square feet and features eight beds, 8.5 baths, and an approximately 0.3-acre lot, according to the Intracoastal Realty Corporation property overview.
Guests can expect a variety of amenities during their stay at the property, including home-cooked gourmet breakfast, complimentary wine hour, Wi-Fi access, bedrooms equipped with Smart TVs and wine fridges, and an outdoor fire pit, according to the C. W. Worth House webpage. A pub, parlor, and game room offer entertainment for guests.

Enhancements, including romance packages, birthday packages, and more can be added on to a reservation for an additional fee. The property also boasts its location near downtown restaurants, bars, and attractions.
