Wales & West Utilities completes latest Fairford gas works

    March 16, 20262 Mins Read

The company has been upgrading gas pipes in the London Street area since the start of the year.

Work has now finished up to The Plies, with more improvements planned for next year. The project aims to keep gas supplies safe and reliable for homes and businesses in the area.

Wales & West Utilities worked alongside Gloucestershire County Council and used traffic management while the work took place.

Mick Gallavin, who managed the work, thanked residents and explained the next steps.

He said: “We would like to thank the local community for bearing with us whilst we completed this essential work.

“Further work on this project is required and we will be returning to the area in January next year but assure the local community that road closures won’t be required, as we’ll carry out the required work under traffic lights.”

Mr Gallavin also highlighted the importance of the project for the future.

He said: “This work was essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport green gases in the future.”

Residents are reminded to call 0800 111 999 if they smell gas.
