United Utilities called over burst main in St Helens

    August 13, 20251 Min Read

Repair works are still taking place on Burrows Lane, Eccleston after the issue was reported earlier today.

United Utilities says that the issue is affecting properties in St Helens and Prescot, the WA10 and L34 postcodes.

At 7.45am United Utilities said they were investigating a problem in the area.

In an update issued at 9.38am, a spokesperson said: “We’ve found the cause of no water or low pressure to be a burst water main near to Burrows Lane.

“Now that we’ve identified the cause of the problem, our team will assess the issue and start the repair work shortly.

    “Thank you for your patience.”

Works have started and remain ongoing.

Shortly after 4pm, United Utilities said: “Our team are making progress and our top priority is getting things back to normal.

“Repairs to our network can be harder to fix than we first thought, and take longer than we hoped to complete.

“We’re working as quickly as we can to get your taps flowing again. Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.
