Some residents in the WA10 postcode area in Eccleston, had experienced no water or low pressure due to a fault identified by United Utilities.
St Julie’s Primary School had to close early today (Monday) due to the issue.
United Utilities said a temporary fix has restored supply to affected properties for now.
A online statement issued by United Utilities at 3pm today: “Our team have identified the cause of no water and poor pressure in the area. We’ve already been out to assess the issue, and we’ll need to return to carry out further work later today to get this fully resolved.
“In the meantime, our team have carried out a temporary repair so all customers taps should now be flowing again.
“If your tap water looks discoloured, don’t worry – this can happen when natural sediments in the pipes are disturbed. You can find helpful advice on our discoloured water page.
“We’re really sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we get this sorted.”
