Employees from both Cherryland Electric Cooperative and Traverse City Light & Power (TCLP) are on their way to the southeast United States to lend a hand with hurricane relief efforts.
On Tuesday, Cherryland shared on Facebook that it had “joined other Michigan co-ops and sent four of our lineworkers to Florida to assist a fellow cooperative in preparation for restoration efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.”
“We are so thankful to Kyle, Dustin, Brad, and Nick for their willingness to help serve co-op families in Florida during this great time of need,” Cherryland wrote in the post. “Join us in wishing them safe travels.”
A similar post popped up on the TCLP Facebook account yesterday, with the utility sharing that it had five lineworkers “joining crews from Michigan to provide hurricane relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.”
“We are thankful to Nate, Jake, Kevin, Josh, and Brandon who are heading into challenging conditions to help restore power for those affected by the hurricane,” TCLP wrote in the announcement. “Their hard work and commitment embody the spirit of community and support. Please join us in wishing them safe travels and thanking them for their service and dedication.”
