Homes in Darwen are without water with United Utilities informing customers they are “aware” of the issue.

Customers in the BB3 postcode are either without water or experiencing extremely low pressure after the incident was first reported at around 4pm this afternoon.

The message reads: “We’re investigating a problem in your area that may be causing no water or low pressure. We’re really sorry for any disruption and we hope to have your taps flowing again soon.

“We’ll be back in touch once we have an update. Thanks for your patience.”

In a text to customers at 6.06pm, United Utilities added: “We’ve identified what is causing your water supply issues and a team is now on their way to sort this out. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, we’ll have things back to normal as quickly as we can.”
