But some Yorkshire businesses have boomed over the last 12 months, at least where the stock market is concerned.

As part of our Yorkshire ISA experiment, we used the London Stock Exchange’s virtual portfolio tool to track all of the Yorkshire-based companies listed on the stock exchange so we could track how they performed.

While it is a rudimentary experiment, it gives a good overall picture of how the businesses have performed and how Yorkshire has performed overall.

Here are the five companies that performed the best for percentage growth over the last year.

Clean Power Hydrogen – Original price £0.06 – Current price £0.14 – Percentage change 141.99%

    Filtronic – Original price £1.59 – Current price £3.77 – Percentage change 137.11%

    Avacta – Original price 0.31 – Current price £0.73 – 135.48%

    ITM Power – Original price 0.80 – Current price £1.31 – 64.95%

    Abingdon Health – Original price 0.07 – Current price £0.11 – 60.71%

The Yorkshire ISA Experiment has been running since July 2025.placeholder image
