    US Stock Market: Dow falls over 100 pts, Nasdaq slides below 18,750; NVIDIA, Amazon, Microsoft top blue-chip losers

    US Stock Market Today, Dow Jones, S&P 500, Nasdaq: Wall Street faced reeled under pressure on Monday amid weakness in technology, energy and material shares though strength in spaces like real estate, healthcare and consumer staples lent some support, helping the benchmark indices avoid deeper cuts.

    The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell as much as 138.2 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 43,702.7. The other American blue-chip index, the S&P 500 fell as much as 35.3 points, or 0.6 per cent, to 5,919.2 while the US technology stocks-heavy Nasdaq Composite dipped to as low as 18,647.2, shedding 200.1 points (1.1 per cent) from its previous close.

    Among index heavyweights, NVIDIA, Amazon and Microsoft were the top losers, falling around 1-4 per cent each.

    At 11:36 am Eastern Time (10:06 pm in India), here’s how the three main gauges fared:

    • DJIA: down 130 pts, or 0.3 per cent, at 43,710.9
    • S&P 500: down 25.1 pts, or 0.4 per cent, at 5,929.5
    • Nasdaq: down 113.2 points, or 0.6 per cent, at 18,734.1
