Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Nifty tops 24,150 as IT stocks rebound; Sensex up 579 points

    July 2, 20262 Mins Read

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: We have arrived at the second half of this Sensex expiry session, and the markets are looking to build on the momentum, and Nifty is now aiming for higher levels, rising nearly 100 points. The Nifty bank is also trading higher, rising nearly 100 points, surging over 58,100. Infosys, TCS and HCLTech are the top gainers.

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Markets ended higher today, with benchmark indices outperforming broader markets, led by a sharp rebound in information technology stocks. The Sensex gained 579 points to close at 77,502, while the Nifty 50 rose 170 points to 24,176, reclaiming the 24,150 mark.

The Nifty IT index snapped its three-session losing streak, with all 10 constituents ending in the green, making Infosys, TCS, HCLTech and Tech Mahindra among the biggest contributors to the Nifty’s gains.

In contrast, the Nifty Bank underperformed and ended largely flat, with Bank of Baroda and Punjab National Bank among the top drags.

Among stocks, downstream oil marketing companies rallied while upstream producers declined after Brent crude slipped below $71 a barrel. Exide Industries and Amara Raja gained up to 8% as lead prices dropped to their lowest levels since early 2025.

Tata Technologies, Persistent Systems, Sona BLW and Apollo Tyres were among the top midcap gainers, while TVS Motor and Force Motors advanced after reporting strong June sales. Market breadth remained positive, with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 2:1.
