    The 10 most expensive properties on sale in UK right now

    The UK property market has had a strange year. Many people have looked to move following national COVID-19 shutdowns, looking for more space and greener areas.

    Those mulling a move with a fortune to spend may have cast their eyes over these 10 houses.

    Coming in at the most expensive real estate in the UK, they boast a range of central London locations, expansive grounds, swimming pools and even lodges for staff to live in on-site.

    The list was compiled using Zoopla and RightMove’s search functions in different areas of the UK, filtering from highest price first.

    Many of the properties listed are in London and its surrounding areas.

    Here are the 10 most expensive properties on the market right now:

    1) Belgravia, London — £77.5m ($104m)

    An eight-bed mansion in Belgravia has topped the list of the most expensive UK properties. The property features six bathrooms, four reception rooms, and a roof terrace.

    On Belgravia Square, it’s in thriving central London, a short walk to local boutique shops, bars and restaurants of Motcomb Street and the many transport facilities, shops and departments stores of Sloane Street and Knightsbridge.

    2) Mayfair, London — £65m

    A near-14,000 square foot six-bed house takes the second spot, situated in bougie Mayfair.

    The house has six floors with lift. It’s close to Park Lane, Berkeley Square, Green Park, Oxford Street, shops, amenities and facilities of Mayfair.

    3) Upper Grosvenor Street, London — £54.4m

    Coming in at a guide price of a cool £54.4m is this 12-bed terraced house. It’s the third most expensive house on the market right now in a prime central London location.

    This Mayfair town house has a dining room suitable for 20 guests, as well as a pool.

    It was built in 1732, and underwent an extensive refurbishment in 1908 by architect Ralph Knott.

    Upper Grosvenor Street is situated between Grosvenor Square and Park Lane. This prestigious location offers close proximity to the open, green spaces of Hyde Park and the bustle of central London.

    4) Walton Street, Knightsbridge, London — £44m

    St Saviours is a Grade II listed historical building that has been converted into a modern seven bedroom home.

    The property benefits from a vaulted ceiling, original stone pillars, beautiful views and parking for three cars. It is approximately 12,102 square foot in the middle of Knightsbridge.

    Period features with a modern twist bring this to fourth on the list, with a guide price of £44m.

    5) Merton Lane, London — £40m

    For £40m this 10-bed sits on a two acre site in a coveted area of north London.

    The listing says it is a bespoke family home with the accommodation predominantly arranged over three floors with the benefit of a substantial, self-contained staff lodge. It has a glass lift to each floor.

    On the first floor there is the master suite with bathroom, four further suites each with en-suite bathrooms whilst to the top floor there is a home office with panoramic views over the gardens and Hampstead Heath beyond.

    The pool opens onto the garden and there is a home gym and billiards room.

    The staff lodge extends to approximately 4,400 square foot and there is garaging below for about 4 cars as well as ample off-street parking to the front of the house.

    8) Kensington, London — £29.95m

    Located on one of London’s most sought-after residential addresses, this detached 10-bedroom house with lift and garage, has been extensively remodelled and re-designed.

    Set back from the street, behind its own landscaped front garden, the entrance to the house is approached via steps that lead up and into the gracious entrance hall which in turn leads onto all three of the principal rooms on the raised ground floor.

    10) Lancaster Gate, London — £25m

    If you’re looking for a redevelopment opportunity, this could be the one for you. Previously a hotel, this seven-floor, 60 bed terrace comprises two adjoining white stucco fronted, seven storey Grade II Listed buildings.

    A “doer upper” this former mansion block could be restored to its former glory with the right buyer.
