Law firm Switalskis has appointed a head of commercial property (Lincolnshire) to support the expansion of its South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire commercial property offering.

Jonathan Hyldon will be based at the firm’s recently launched Grimsby office and will lead the commercial property team’s activity across South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, working alongside the company’s nine-strong specialist team.

With more than 20 years’ legal experience, Hyldon qualified in 2002 and began his career as a licensing lawyer advising multinational PLCs in both the alcohol and gaming sectors.

He has specialised in commercial property law for the past decade, focusing on acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, refinancing, secured lending and property development.

Jonathan Hyldon said: “Switalskis has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal advice with a genuinely client-focused approach. That is something that really stood out to me. This role presents a great opportunity to build on the firm’s existing commercial property strengths and to help further growth across the regions. The work is varied and can be extremely complex and challenging. No two transactions are the same and guiding clients through the legal process is incredibly rewarding.

“Like Switalskis, I pride myself on being approachable and have always sought to build strong, lasting relationships with clients whilst focusing on their business goals to obtain the best possible results for them. At the same time having close connections with professional contacts, including agents, banks and surveyors helps transactions run smoothly. This collaborative approach is key to delivering the best outcomes.”

Switalskis’ commercial property team advises a range of regional and national clients, including developers, landlords and investors.

John Durkan, Switalskis chief executive, added: “Jonathan’s appointment is a significant step for the team and reflects our commitment to investing in experienced leadership as we continue to grow. He brings extensive experience and a practical, commercial approach, along with a talent for fostering lasting connections. Jonathan will play a key role in our next phase of growth both regionally and nationally.”
