Police investigating fire at UK prime minister Keir Starmer’s home

    May 12, 20252 Mins Read

British police are investigating a fire which broke out at UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s house in London.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said officers were called to a property in Kentish Town, in the north London borough of Camden.

Authorities say there was damage to the property’s exterior but no one was injured.

The house is in Mr Starmer’s parliamentary constituency of Holborn and St Pancras.

The Labour leader previously lived there before moving into Downing Street — the traditional home of British prime ministers — after his election victory last July.

“Officers attended the scene. Damage was caused to the property’s entrance, nobody was hurt,” the Metropolitan Police said.

“The fire is being investigated and cordons remain in place while enquiries continue.”

The London Fire Brigade said it attended a “small fire”.

In a statement released by Downing Street on Monday afternoon, the Prime Minister’s spokesman thanked various agencies for their response.

“The prime minister thanks the emergency services for their work,” the spokesman said.

“The incident is subject to a live investigation and we will therefore not be commenting further.”

News of the blaze at Mr Starmer’s property came on the same day the British prime minister unveiled major changes to the UK’s migration rules.
