Escape To The Country couple tearful at price of ‘amazing’ property | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Two prospective buyers experienced a wave of emotions on BBC’s Escape To The Country when they laid eyes on an “amazing” home nestled in the Scottish countryside.

On Wednesday’s (19 February) episode, viewers met Phil and Andrea, guided by presenter Sonali Shah. Phil, enjoying his retirement from teaching, and Andrea, working as an administrator, were on the hunt for their dream house in Perthshire, where they had honeymooned in 2016.

With intentions to relocate from Bournemouth, they brought a budget of £425,000 to the table. The search led them through two homes that didn’t quite hit the mark, until Sonali introduced them to a third option.

This distinctive property was once a carpentry workshop and boasted an unconventional upside-down design bedrooms on the ground floor and living spaces above.

Initially, Andrea called the four-bedroom home “different but cosy”, yet it soon charmed both her and Phil. Ecstatic, Andrea proclaimed: “I think it’s amazing, I absolutely love it!”

As the couple anxiously waited for the price reveal, Sonali delivered the good newsit was well within their financial reach at £299,500. Overjoyed by the value, Phil and Andrea couldn’t hide their excitement, praising the cost as “amazing”, reports the Daily Record.

Whilst speaking to the camera, Andrea confessed: “The price is amazing, we were stunned by the price,” and concluded with high praise: “I think it’s perfect actually. The views are amazing.”

Phil enthused: “It gives us a good mixture, and it also brings out the more creative, imaginative side in me. As much as I can see, what it would be like if we were living here.”

Andrea couldn’t contain her emotions as she confessed: “But, also quietly excited about finding somewhere. I’m getting a bit emotional!”

In a tender moment, her husband offered her a tissue to dab away the tears that had welled up in her eyes from the thrill of the hunt.

Despite their initial enthusiasm for the property, Andrea and Phil’s excitement peaked with Sonali’s mystery home reveal. Yet, in a surprising twist, the couple didn’t place an offer on either property, as it emerged they had fallen for another house that wasn’t featured on the show.

Escape to the Country airs on weekdays on BBC One at 3pm
