Samsung stands out in strong HBM quarter, Bernstein says By Investing.com

    July 21, 20261 Min Read

Investing.com – Bernstein says Korea export data for June indicates ’ second-quarter high-bandwidth memory revenue could exceed the firm’s estimates, according to a research note released Monday.

Export data from South Chungcheong Province, where Samsung packages HBM, grew twofold month-over-month in June and rose 75% quarter-over-quarter for the second quarter of 2026. Bernstein’s regression analysis predicts Samsung’s second-quarter HBM revenue will rise 89% quarter-over-quarter to $6.7 billion, above the firm’s model.

Overall HBM exports from Korea set a record high in June, up 46% quarter-over-quarter versus March. Second-quarter 2026 exports increased 39% quarter-over-quarter.

Export data for remained robust, with June exports from North Chungcheong and Icheon recovering 11% month-over-month and rising 5% quarter-over-quarter. Bernstein predicts SK hynix’s second-quarter HBM revenue will grow 25% quarter-over-quarter to $7.6 billion, in line with the firm’s forecast.

June “value per weight” data grew 30% month-over-month for Samsung but remained flat for SK hynix. Bernstein says this was likely driven by a continued ramp of Samsung’s HBM4 rather than a broad HBM price increase.
