Former Kier finance chief Simon Kesteron has been appointed chief financial officer at materials distributor SIG.
Kesterton left Kier at the end of last year after being one of then chief executive Andrew Davies’s first picks to reshape the contractor’s top team when he joined in 2019.
He starts his new role tomorrow (Friday).

In a trading update this morning, SIG said like-for-like sales declined 5% in the first three months of the year to £614m, putting the slide down to subdued demand and the wet weather in the first couple of months of the year. But it said trading improved in March and that cashflow in the quarter was ahead of plan.
It added: “The recent increases in oil and gas prices are driving additional increases in input costs in the near term and we expect to pass these through in a timely manner.”
SIG will release its interim results on 4 August.
