Born and raised in Sudbury, Restoule is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a graduate of Laurentian University’s Honours Bachelor of Commerce program. Since joining GSU in 2012, she has held several progressive executive roles, including vice president of strategy and growth, and general manager of Agilis Networks.

She brings proven leadership experience, a deep understanding of GSU’s operations, and a strong connection to the community, a release announcing her appointment said.

“I am humbled and honoured to lead this organization that has meant so much to me,” Restoule. “Our people are passionate about delivering safe and reliable services, and I’m excited to build on that commitment as we continue modernizing, innovating, and preparing for the future.”

Restoule has played a key role in uniting GSU’s competitive divisions under a shared strategy and strengthening their presence across Northern Ontario. Her vision has helped transform Agilis Networks, @home Energy, and ConverGen into trusted and recognizable brands, the release said.

“In the months ahead, I’ll be spending time with our employees and partners to listen, learn, and strengthen the connections that make GSU so strong,” she added. “We have great momentum and a talented team, and I’m confident in where we’re headed.”

“Shannon’s strategic mindset and ability to bring people together make her an outstanding choice to lead GSU into its next chapter,” said Mark Signoretti, chair of the GSU board. “She has demonstrated exceptional leadership, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of the communities we serve.”

In a related move, the GSU has promoted Taylor Conaty to vice president of competitive services, where he will oversee Agilis Networks, @home Energy, and ConverGen.

Greater Sudbury Utilities (GSU) owns and operates Greater Sudbury Hydro, a local electricity distribution company with more than 48,000 customers, and several competitive subsidiaries, including Agilis Networks (telecommunications), @home Energy (water heater rentals), and ConverGen (renewable energy development).

GSU has a single shareholder, the City of Greater Sudbury.
