Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: While Nifty appears to be consolidating around the 25,450 mark, the broader markets, the small-cap and mid-cap indices, are trading with major cuts.
The Indian markets are looking for some stability amid a lack of clarity on the US-India trade deal. The Nifty index is trading around 25,450, with minimal change from yesterday’s closing.
The Sensex is also trading with minor gains, at around 83,500.
Gokaldas Exports shares rose by over 7%, along with a 5% rise in the stocks of Arvind, after Trump’s 35% tariff imposition on Bangladesh. In addition, capital market players are trading lower, with Angel One down over 3%. Along with that, pharma stocks, both mid-cap and large-cap, declined in the day’s trade. In addition, Siyaram Silks also rose by 10%
When we look at some of the biggest movers in terms of volume movement, Vardhaman Textile, Elgi Equipments, Trident, Bata India and Lemon Tree top the charts.
The broader markets appear to have been hit harder by uncertainty, as the small-cap and mid-cap indices traded with cuts of close to 1%.
Previously, the Nifty barely budged from Friday’s closing on Monday, trading in a very narrow range.
