    Utilities Up Sharply on Defensive Bias — Utilities Roundup

    Shares of power producers rose sharply as traders piled into the defensive sector ahead of the Federal Reserve policy statement.

    Entergy shares rose ahead of the New Orleans utility’s earnings report Wednesday.

    The SPDR Select Sector Utilities exchange-traded fund rose by more than 1% and is 10% higher for the year to date, significantly ahead of the S&P 500.
