Utilities Flat on Safe Haven Demand — Utilities Roundup

    October 22, 20252 Mins Read

Shares of power producers were more or less flat as traders rotated into defensive sectors.

With a slump in gold futures, traders are looking to other sectors for safe havens as stock volatility rises.

GE Vernova swung to a third-quarter profit as orders surged for its power and electrification businesses.

Shares of nuclear-power firms slid after analysts raised concerns about their valuations. NuScale, a maker of small modular nuclear reactors, fell sharply, compounding recent losses a day after analysts at brokerage BNP Paribas Exane said the company’s share price was lofty given that it was unprofitable.
