United Utilities has awarded places on a major framework to deliver reservoir improvements and ground engineering works across the North West of England.
The PRO004824 framework will support Asset Management Periods 8 and 9 (AMP8 and AMP9) by delivering maintenance, repairs and specialist improvements to the water company’s reservoir assets.
Seven contractors have been appointed to Lot 1 of the works framework, which focuses on general reservoir improvements and civil engineering. They are AE Yates, Askam Civil Engineering, Bethell Construction, Cleantech Civils, JVT Construction, Stonbury, and Kier Integrated Services.
Lot 1 will involve civil works such as wavewall construction, valve replacement and repair, ditch clearance, and masonry works, with indicative project values ranging from £5,000 to £6m.
Bachy Soletanche, Kier Integrated Services, and Bethell Construction have been awarded contracts under Lot 2, which covers specialist ground engineering. This includes diaphragm walls, secant piling, jet grouting and other geotechnical works.
The framework will operate under a negotiated procedure with prior call for competition. No contract values were disclosed in the award notice and no options were stated. All contracts were signed on 29 September 2025.
The work is intended to help United Utilities meet its regulatory commitments during AMP8, which runs from 2025 to 2030, and AMP9, which begins thereafter. Projects will be delivered across the water firm’s catchment in the North West.
