S’wak exploring strategic tie-ups in utilities, space industry in China

    July 14, 20251 Min Read

KUCHING: Sarawak is exploring strategic partnerships and technologies in utilities and the space industry in China.

State Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi is leading a delegation on a week-long technical working visit to key infrastructure and technology facilities in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hainan starting Monday (July 14).

The sites include water treatment plants, smart water management facilities, Wenchang International Aerospace City and China National Space Administration (CNSA).

“This technical working visit is part of our ministry’s commitment to exploring international best practices and advanced technologies in the fields of water supply, electricity supply, telecommunication and space industry.

“We look forward to exploring potential partnerships with relevant agencies or companies, particularly in areas such as capacity building, joint pilot projects and the adoption of advanced technologies,” Julaihi said in a statement on Tuesday (July 15).

He said the visit will provide opportunities to study how smart systems, automation and integrated designs contribute to sustainable and efficient urban water services.

The delegation will also meet government leaders and department heads in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hainan to discuss future cooperation and technical exchanges.

“These engagements reflect the ministry’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in delivering world-class utility services across Sarawak,” Julaihi said.
