    New utilities field office building on the agenda

    SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – A new office building for the city of Sioux City is on the agenda for Monday’s city council.

    Council will be asked to adopt plans, specifications and a cost for a new utilities field office building. The current building located on the 1700 block of 18th Street has foundation issues according to city documents.

    The new building, which is estimated to cost over $10 million, would be located at 18th and Steuben.

    The project currently has an available balance of $6,518,074.32 with $2,200,000.00 is being requested in Fiscal Year 2026; the amount of $1,000,000.00 is being requested in Fiscal Year 2027 and 2028.

    Field Services includes city streets, underground utilities and parks maintenance.

    Sioux City City Council meets on Monday at 4 p.m. at City Council Chambers located on the 5th floor of City Hall in Downtown Sioux City.
