Expanding utilities specialist Ipsum buys Matrix Power

    March 12, 20251 Min Read

Matrix Power has a dedicated inhouse workforce of commissioning engineers, field technicians, cable jointers and cable installers that will build on Ipsum’s existing expertise in the region.

The acquisition strengthens capabilities in high voltage electrical power systems including design, equipment installation, cable installation and jointing, preventative maintenance and repairs.

Matrix also brings specialist expertise in the design, installation & commissioning of DC & Light Rail traction power systems.

Andrew Cowan, CEO at Ipsum, said: “It’s an exciting period at Ipsum and in the utilities sector generally. The addition of Matrix Power’s expertise will allow us to expand our existing footprint in the northeast and broaden our availability across the north of England and Scotland.”

Ipsum is a leading provider of engineering services in the power, water, infrastructure and telecoms sectors.
