Stock market futures tied to the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq 100 index were all rising Thursday morning, as investors weighed a slight drop in weekly jobless claims in the U.S.
The E-Mini Dow Continuous Contract was up 0.1%, while the E-Mini S&P 500 Future Continuous Contract increased 0.2% ES00 and the E-Mini Nasdaq 100 Index Continuous Contract gained 1%, according to FactSet data, at last check.
Initial jobless claims in the U.S. fell by 2,000 to 215,00 during the week ending July 4, according to a report Thursday from the Department of Labor. Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal had forecast that the initial jobless claims would edge up to 218,000.
