Stock Market Today LIVE: The domestic markets closed in positive territory after a significant recovery, buoyed by an encouraging economic survey that confirmed a solid growth forecast for FY27 and a stable inflation scenario despite ongoing global uncertainties.

Sensex climbed 221.69 points to settle at 82,566.37; Nifty 50 climbed 76.15 points to 25,418.90.

Nifty 50 and Sensex, traded lower after opening flat on Thursday. After two days of gains driven by the trade agreement with the European Union, investors focus shifted to the budget set to be announced on Sunday.

The budget plays a crucial role in indicating the direction of economic growth and corporate earnings in the world’s fastest-growing major economy. Markets will be open for a special session on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the US Federal Reserve maintained interest rates, as was largely anticipated.

At 9:15 IST, the Nifty 50 increased by 0.01% to 25,345, while the BSE Sensex rose by 0.03% to 82,368.96.

Rupee touched record low of 92.00 against US dollar in early trade.

MCX gold February futures jumped by nearly ₹10,000, or 6%, to hit the record high of ₹1,75,869 per 10 grams mark.

MCX silver March futures soared by ₹21,500, or almost 6%, to a record high of ₹4,06,863 per kg.

Globally, Asian markets traded mixed, while the US stock market ended mostly higher overnight after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged.

Meanwhile, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey 2025–2026 in Parliament today, ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget 2026 on Sunday, February 1.

Among stocks to watch today, shares of ITC, Tata Motors, Swiggy, Paytm, Canara Bank, Adani Power, Vedanta, Larsen & Toubro, Cochin Shipyard, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, Vedanta, Hindustan Zinc, among others will be in focus.
