    Stock Market Live Updates: Indices Opened Lower; Sensex Loses 300 pts, Nifty Below 22900

    Stock Market Live Updates: Indian stock market on Tuesday opened lower with Nifty falling below 22800. Indian stock market on Tuesday opened lower with Nifty falling below 22800. At open, both the indices recorded a decline of nearly 1%. Sensex fell 1.05 percent to 73,326.61, while the Nifty declined 0.9 percent to 22,771.75. Broader markets also traded weak, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 indices down around 1 percent each.

    On Monday, the market closed in green with both the indices, Sensex and Nifty, recorded gains even after opening in red. Among the key gainers were Trent, Wipro, Coal India, Hindalco Industries, Titan Company while losers are Interglobe Aviation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma, Adani Enterprises.

    IT stocks traded higher in early deals with Wipro leading the gains, rising over 2 percent, while Infosys and Tech Mahindra advanced over 1 percent each, placing three IT names among the top gainers on the Nifty.

    HDFC Bank, has witnessed a sell-off of nearly Rs 35,000 crore worth of shares from the foreign investors during the March 2026 quarter, and the bank’s shares fell 26.2 percent during the quarter.
