NSE Holidays: As December 31 marks the last of 2025 and the calendar is ready to be flipped, investors are wondering whether the Indian stock market will remain open on December 31 (New Year’s Eve).

There’s good news for investors and traders. The Indian stock market will be open on both December 31 and January 1.

According to the official holiday calendar, trading on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange will continue as usual on both days, with normal market hours across equity, derivatives, and currency segments.

December 31 typically marks the final trading session of the calendar year and often sees lower volumes, as many market participants prefer to avoid fresh positions ahead of the year-end. Some investors use the session for profit booking, portfolio rebalancing, or tax-related adjustments.

January 1, despite being New Year’s Day, is not a stock market holiday in India.
