Stock Market Highlights: Indian equity benchmarks snapped a two-day losing streak on Thursday, though they finished well off the day’s highs. The Sensex gained 238 points to close at 76,742, while the Nifty added 81 points to settle at 23,963, with Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank and Sun Pharma emerging as the top contributors to the benchmark’s gains.

Broader markets outperformed, as the Nifty Bank rose 510 points to 57,252 and the Midcap index climbed 844 points to 62,167, while market breadth remained firmly in favour of advances with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 3:1. Among stocks in focus, Kalyan Jewellers extended its previous session’s rally to jump over 17%, Dixon Technologies and Amber Enterprises gained up to 4% on customs-duty exemptions for display assembly inputs, and Exide Industries and Amara Raja rose up to 4% after duty relief for lithium-ion cell manufacturing inputs.

Insolation Energy surged 12% after securing a ₹558 crore order from NTPC Renewable. On the downside, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories fell 6% after delaying commercial production of semaglutide due to an API issue, while the Nifty IT index ended lower for a second straight session, with Infosys down 2% and TCS closing in the red ahead of its first-quarter results.
