tock Market today | Share Market Highlights: Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty tumbled more than 1% on Tuesday, dragged down by heavy losses in IT stocks amid concerns over artificial intelligence-led disruption and renewed trade-related uncertainties.
Global trade and tariff worries resurfaced as well, with additional pressure arising from Trump’s warnings on trade deals and reports of possible national-security tariffs, he added.
Tech Mahindra emerged as the biggest laggard, declining by 6.6%, followed by HCL Technologies, Eternal, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Larsen & Toubro, Trent, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Bharat Electronics Ltd and ICICI Bank.
On the other hand, NTPC, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel, PowerGrid, Titan, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, and Sun Pharmaceuticals were among the gainers.
Broader indices also ended in the negative territory, with the BSE Smallcap Select Index falling 0.68%, while the Midcap Select Index slipped 0.54%.

PEL has been declared L1 by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) for the prestigious Renuka Ji Dam Project (Package-1) valued at ₹910.08 crore (including GST).
The project is located at Village Dadahu, Tehsil Renuka, District Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh and is scheduled to be completed within 30 months.
The scope of work includes the construction of three diversion tunnels, each with a diameter of 9.5 meters and lengths of 1,379 meters, 1,468 meters, and 1,590 meters, respectively. The project also involves the development of inlet and outlet portals, construction of approximately 6 kilometers of access roads, installation of hydro-mechanical gates, and execution of instrumentation works to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
The Renuka Ji Dam Project is a key initiative aimed at enhancing water storage capacity, ensuring reliable water supply, and supporting hydropower generation.

· Safe-haven demand – Gold and silver climbed to a three-week high, supported by renewed safe-haven demand. Market sentiment turned cautious after U.S. President Donald Trump reacted strongly to a court decision and imposed a blanket 15% tariff on imports — the maximum permitted under the law — while maintaining that trade agreements with nearly 20 countries should remain intact.
· Geopolitical Tensions – The U.S. and Iran are scheduled to hold another round of talks in Geneva this week. While the dialogue suggests diplomatic engagement, lingering uncertainty over Iran’s nuclear programme continues to embed a risk premium in markets, supporting bullion.
· Economic Data – U.S. inflation rose more than expected in December, with indications of further acceleration in January. Persistent inflation could delay Federal Reserve rate cuts, which may cap gold’s upside. However, weaker-than-expected Q4 GDP growth at 1.4% signals economic slowing, which could ultimately reinforce expectations of monetary easing and provide underlying support to gold and silver
Technical Triggers
· As indicated in the previous report, gold has achieved the target of $5200 (~ ₹1,60,000). This technical breakout indicates renewed bullish momentum, with prices now likely targeting the next resistance zones at $5,300 (~ ₹1,63,000) and $5,400 (~ ₹1,66,000).
· As indicated in the previous report, silver has achieved the target of $85 (~ ₹2,60,000). Prices are now gradually approaching the next resistance level of $90 (Rs 270,000) and $92 ( ₹2,80,000).

“Bitcoin’s recent move toward the $64,000 zone is less about panic and more about positioning stress. What we are seeing is a recalibration of expectations after an extended period of optimism. Funding rates have cooled, momentum has weakened, and short term conviction has clearly faded, but this is not disorderly capitulation.
What stands out is the divergence between price weakness and structural demand. Spot flows remain relatively stable while derivatives positioning is being unwound. This suggests the correction is driven by leverage rather than a decline in adoption.
The market is transitioning from momentum trading to valuation sensitivity. If Bitcoin stabilises above the $63,000 to $64,000 liquidity pocket, it would indicate that absorption is underway. IPO Updates: Mom’s Belief files draft IPO papers with SEBI; India’s largest NDD intervention provider
Rays of Belief Limited, which operates under the brand name “Mom’s Belief,” has filed its Updated Draft Red Herring Prospectus – I (UDRHP-I) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in connection with its proposed Initial Public Offering (IPO).
Mom’s Belief ranks first in India by number of centres providing intervention plans for children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) and is the seventh largest globally in its domain, based on the number of centres. The Company had earlier undertaken a confidential filing of its pre-filed draft red herring prospectus with SEBI in October 2025. Pursuant to the observations received from SEBI and the Stock Exchanges (BSE and NSE) earlier, the Company has transitioned to the public filing phase with the submission of the UDRHP-I.
The IPO comprises a Fresh Issue of up to 60 lakh equity shares of face value ₹10 each. The Company, in consultation with the Book Running Lead Manager (BRLM), may consider a Pre-IPO Placement of up to 20% of the Issue size prior to filing the Red Herring Prospectus with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).
Mom’s Belief provides multidisciplinary, evidence-based intervention plans for children aged 18 months to 15 years diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism and Dyslexia.
As of September 30, 2025, the Company operates 136 centres across 57 cities in 20 states and union territories in India, including 43 centres in Tier 1, 76 centres in Tier 2, and 17 centres in Tier 3 cities. The Company has also expanded internationally through the acquisition of Mom’s Belief US, Inc., adding three centres in the United States.

MF Trends: AUM of managed funds to double past Rs 455 lakh crore by 2030
Managed funds have become a force to reckon with as the shift in India’s investment narrative gains traction, with savings increasingly moving from traditional avenues such as fixed deposits to professionally managed, market-linked portfolios, indicates our report, ‘The ascent of alternatives’, released last Friday.
The report projects the assets under management (AUM) of India’s managed funds industry to grow 2.1x from Rs 2121 lakh crore last fiscal to ~Rs 455 lakh crore by fiscal 2030, as financialisation and investor participation increase.
That would take managed investments to ~73% of GDP, compared with ~64% as of last fiscal.
Managed funds include mutual funds, life insurance, retirement funds, portfolio management services (PMS), alternative investment funds (AIFs), real estate investment trusts (REITs) and infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs).
