Latest Stock Market News Today. Trump shooting, stock futures, bitcoin, JPMorgan, Tesla| July 14, 2024

    July 14, 20241 Min Read

U.S. stock futures were steady early Sunday evening, registering modest gains, following the shooting of former President Donald Trump who survived with minor injuries at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by law enforcement.

Investors will continue to digest the events over the weekend heading into a full week of earnings as the second quarter reporting season heats up with Charles Schwab, Goldman Sachs and AmEx set to release results.

U.S. equities have been on a tear with the Dow Jones Industrial Average, topping 40,000, while the S&P 500 hovers near an all-time high, as the market preps for a potential rate cut as early as September following last week’s cooling CPI inflation data.
