    Property firms account for 55% of Reform UK donors

    Property and construction companies represent more than half of Reform UK’s corporate donor base, according to an analysis of Electoral Commission records conducted by Byline Times.

    The research found that 22 of the 40 companies that have donated to Reform UK since 2019 operate in the property and construction sectors, accounting for 55% of corporate donors.

    Financial contributions

    Property-related businesses have contributed approximately £2.42 million of the £5.87 million received in corporate donations by Reform UK and its predecessor, the Brexit Party, between 2019 and 2026, representing 41% of total corporate funding.

    The largest property-related corporate donors identified include TISUN Investments Limited, E.I.R.P Limited, J.C. Bamford Excavators Ltd, London AC Ltd and Interior Architecture Landscape Ltd.

    Byline Times stated there was no evidence that any company or individual donor had acted improperly, or that Reform’s policies had been designed to benefit specific businesses.

    Policy positions

    Reform UK’s 2024 election programme included pledges to “unleash housebuilding” and fast-track housing schemes on brownfield land. The party has also supported planning reforms designed to make it easier for major residential developments to secure approval and reduce delays in the planning system.

    Richard Tice, the party’s Deputy Leader and a property developer, has pledged to repeal the Renters’ Rights Act through a proposed “Great Repeal Bill”. This follows recent government measures affecting the rental sector.

    The party has also proposed moving migrants out of social housing and into the private sector, alongside tighter regulations for houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).

    Reform UK did not respond to requests for comment on the findings. The analysis comes as the UK housing market experiences mixed signals, with ongoing debates about planning reform and rental regulation.
