Busy month at the Muzeo
The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center has lots of events happening this month.
Don’t miss a lecture on Victorian fashion from 1 to 3 p.m. on Aug. 17 in the Main Galler, or the Open Book event from 2 to 3 p.m. on Aug. 18 for a chance to share experiences in the book writing industry.
There will be a summer concert with Sean Oliu from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 30 on the Carnegie Plaza with free arts and crafts for kids. Also, the exhibits Makers@MUZEO with Mahtab Mohammadi and “Rubber Menagerie: The Squeaky Toys of Edward Mobley” will remain on display through Oct. 27
And, Yoga in the Gallery is back at the Muzeo at 10 a.m. on Saturdays.

Tap into wellness resources
A community wellness fair is coming to Anaheim.
There will be resource information, raffle prizes, free health screenings, Zumba sessions, and even free haircut and food (first come, first served).

Wings of Hope fair about being mindful
A Wings of Hope Mental Wellness Resource Fair coming on Sept. 7.
It will be hosted in front of the amphitheater in Pearson Park. There will be mindfulness activities, including coloring, painting, yoga, sound healing, food, giveaways and more. Bring family and friends for mindful health resources for everyone.

Dinner show with RHYTHMO
RHYTHMO Inc is presenting an “En El Corazon” dinner show.
Mark your calendar for Sept. 8 for a celebration with a dinner show, fundraiser and silent auction to support RHYTHMO. Among the performers will be Trio Manzo, Mariachi Puno de Oro, Rhythmo Mariachi Kids and Ballet Folkloríco Flor de Mayo.
RHYTHMO is dedicated to providing music, cultural experiences for all ages and particularly the youth of Orange County. Anaheim libraries celebrate Chicano Heritage Month
The Anaheim Public Library system is presenting events as part of its Chicano Heritage Month Celebration.
On Aug. 24, at 2 p.m., the Nahua Storytime and Dancers will perform at the Sunkist Branch.
On Aug. 31, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Central Library, there will be a live performance by Sin Color in the newly redecorated basement multipurpose room. There will be classically trained opera and mariachi voices and the event is intended for all ages.

The Ebell Club of Anaheim is hosting a flea market with vintage finds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 7.
This is a brand new event offered by Ebell Club at its clubhouse, 226 N. Helena St. Find some treasures to buy or rent a space for $35 and sell your own treasures.

Children can learn about coding
The Anaheim Public Library is offering a Children’s Computer Lab at the Anaheim Central Library on Aug. 22.
This will be offered to children in grades one through five and they will learn the basics of programming through block-based coding with Sphero Robots. The workshop is presented by the nonprofit Dreams for Shools and a Anaheim Community Foundation Helping Hands grant.
The workshop will be 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.in the Children’s Computer Lab at the Central Library, 500 W Broadway in Anaheim. For more information call 714-765-1880. Registration is free. Devices will be provided.

Get a tree, power up your shade
Treepower is again providing a free fruit tree to Anaheim residents.
The Anaheim program offers more than 40 species of shade trees, including drought tolerant and fire resistive varieties, to help reduce your air conditioning use and lower your electric bill.
For a limited time, with your selection of shade tree, you can receive a 5-gallon fruit tree to shade your home. New varieties are available, including apples, avocado, pomegranates and more. Supplies are limited.
