    Germany shares higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.85% By Investing.com

    Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Software sectors propelled shares higher.

    At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.85% to hit a new all time high, while the index added 0.16%, and the index climbed 0.88%.

    The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (), which rose 3.66% or 2.25 points to trade at 63.72 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) added 2.98% or 6.20 points to end at 214.20 and Merck KGaA () was up 2.74% or 3.90 points to 146.35 in late trade.

    Biggest losers included Zalando SE (), which lost 13.36% or 3.89 points to trade at 25.22 in late trade. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST () declined 7.58% or 3.40 points to end at 41.46 and Adidas AG () shed 2.52% or 4.15 points to 160.65.

    The top performers on the MDAX were TKMS GmbH () which rose 5.29% to 89.60, Aurubis AG () which was up 4.49% to settle at 188.70 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. () which gained 3.03% to close at 12.57.

    The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG () which was down 8.21% to 8.48 in late trade, Lanxess AG () which lost 3.27% to settle at 16.56 and Aumovio Se () which was down 2.83% to 39.50 at the close.

    The top performers on the TecDAX were SUSS MicroTec SE () which rose 6.28% to 79.50, Jenoptik AG () which was up 4.21% to settle at 39.14 and SMA Solar Technology AG () which gained 4.02% to close at 54.35.

    The worst performers were Elmos Semiconductor AG () which was down 3.89% to 143.20 in late trade, Kontron AG () which lost 3.10% to settle at 20.60 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG () which was down 2.58% to 30.96 at the close.

    Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 394 to 279 and 36 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

    The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.53% to 16.32.

    In commodities trading, for December delivery was up 1.27% or 52.15 to $4,142.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, for delivery in September fell 5.45% or 4.38 to hit $75.96 a barrel, while the October contract fell 5.28% or 4.42 to trade at $79.35 a barrel.

    EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.

    The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 99.79.
