    Futures muted, investors eye earnings

    Investing.com– U.S. stock futures traded cautiously on Friday as investors balanced a rally in Asian technology shares against persistent geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and looked ahead to the start of the second-quarter earnings season next week.

    “Steady earnings fundamentals continue to anchor index volatility, Q2 results will be key to confirm this,” Barclays strategist Emmanuel Cau wrote in a note.

    “Q2 results will be crucial in reconnecting price action with fundamentals, determining whether markets can extend gains from here and affirming sector/factor leadership.”

    1. Japan assets rally on pension fund push

    SK Hynix priced its U.S. ADR offering at $149 per share, raising about $26.5 billion in one of the largest semiconductor equity offerings. The pricing represents roughly a 3% premium to the previous close of its Seoul-listed shares, with trading set to begin Friday. Reuters reported that SK Hynix’s US ADR offering is more than 7x oversubscribed.

    3. Asian stocks rally as chip shares surge

    Asian equities advanced on Friday, led by semiconductor stocks after strong gains on Wall Street. South Korea’s jumped around 5%, with among the biggest gainers, while Japan’s also moved higher.

    European equities were more subdued, with the little changed after Thursday’s AI-driven rally, as investors weighed renewed U.S.-Iran military tensions and concerns over potential disruptions to global shipping and inflation.

    4. Oil heads for weekly gains as geopolitical tensions linger

    Oil prices edged higher and remained on track for solid weekly gains as traders assessed renewed U.S.-Iran hostilities against expectations the conflict will stay contained. is on pace for a roughly 6% weekly advance and about 5%, although both have retreated from midweek highs as fears of a major supply disruption through the Strait of Hormuz eased.

    Gold slipped and was set for a weekly decline as higher oil prices fueled concerns about inflation and interest rates, while and were also headed for weekly losses.

    5. Delta kicks off earnings season

    The second-quarter earnings season officially begins next week. is set to report today with analysts expecting adjusted earnings per share of $1.51 on revenue of $17.53 billion, including passenger revenue of $15.63 billion and cargo revenue of about $231.6 million.

    Investors will be watching airline commentary closely for signals on consumer travel demand and the broader economic outlook.
