Ammon News – A Cabinet session held Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, reviewed the periodic report of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply on the procedures and measures taken to limit the rise in commodity prices and ensure the abundance of the strategic stock of basic materials.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Youssef Shamali, confirmed that prices in the markets are stable and goods are available in safe quantities, pointing out that during the past week the markets witnessed a decline in the prices of 42 commodities, and the stability of 42 other commodities, while the prices of only 6 commodities rose out of 90 basic commodities whose average prices are monitored.

He also confirmed that inspection teams will continue their efforts to monitor markets, pointing out that 5,449 visits to commercial establishments have been carried out since mid-June, resulting in 237 violations being issued.
