This acquisition elevates Strategy’s aggregate Bitcoin holdings to 815,061 BTC. According to company disclosures, the average acquisition price across the entire portfolio stands at $75,527 per Bitcoin.

Based on prevailing market valuations, the treasury now exceeds $61.5 billion in total worth.

This most recent acquisition positions Strategy above BlackRock, whose iShares Bitcoin Trust maintains 802,823 BTC. Strategy now claims the distinction of being the world’s largest publicly disclosed corporate Bitcoin holder.

Strategy CEO Phong Le shared the milestone on X, noting the company boosted its BTC Gain by 82% within a single week. The year-to-date figure now reaches $4.97 billion.

    Market Response to MSTR Shares

Despite both the substantial Bitcoin acquisition and Vanguard’s enlarged position, Strategy’s stock experienced a downturn. Shares decreased 0.77% to settle at $165.24 during Monday’s trading session.

Strategy additionally disclosed a year-to-date BTC yield of 9.5%. This metric evaluates the expansion of Bitcoin holdings in relation to outstanding shares.

Vanguard has historically maintained a reputation as a conservative, buy-and-hold institutional investor. The firm’s expanded Strategy allocation provides indirect Bitcoin exposure without requiring direct asset ownership.

The VOE ETF concentrates on mid-capitalization value equities. Strategy’s presence in the portfolio demonstrates how Bitcoin-related stocks are increasingly integrated into conventional investment vehicles.

Strategy has maintained a consistent Bitcoin accumulation strategy since 2020. The company has expanded its treasury through various channels including equity offerings and debt instruments.

The firm’s business model creates a direct correlation between corporate financial health and Bitcoin price fluctuations. Rising Bitcoin prices strengthen Strategy’s balance sheet, while declining prices can generate substantial losses.

BlackRock’s Bitcoin position exists within its spot Bitcoin ETF product. In contrast, Strategy maintains direct ownership of Bitcoin on its corporate balance sheet, representing fundamentally different structural approaches.

In his April 20, 2026 X post, Phong Le characterized the approach as merging “appreciating bitcoin” with “accretive financing.”
