The Switzerland-based Bitcoin payment processor said potentially exposed information includes customer email addresses, Bitcoin addresses, IBANs, transaction history and hashed passwords, while the scope of any additional access remains unclear.

User funds remain safe, Swiss Bitcoin Pay noted, adding that all amounts owed to users will be returned in full.

Led by Jimmy Larbi Djabali, whose stated business is developing Bitcoin transaction-processing applications and technology, Swiss Bitcoin Pay enables businesses to accept Bitcoin, including through the Lightning Network.

The company offers payment infrastructure for merchants, including a checkout system, merchant dashboard and integrations for online and physical stores. Swiss Bitcoin Pay says its service is non-custodial and is designed not to hold users’ Bitcoin.
