The funds are aimed at expanding its Bitcoin holdings and further attracting institutional investors. This capital raise is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to accumulate more Bitcoin and reinforce its position in the digital asset market. The move highlights Strategy’s dominance in the corporate Bitcoin space, with one of the largest holdings globally.

Shift to Preferred Equity and Diversified Funding Sources

In 2025, Strategy Inc. took a new approach to funding by raising capital through a mix of common equity, preferred equity, and convertible debt. The company secured $11.9 billion in common equity, $6.9 billion in preferred equity, and $2 billion in convertible debt. This diverse funding strategy marks a shift from 2024, where the company relied primarily on common equity and convertible debt. The inclusion of preferred equity signals a broader strategy to tap into varied investor interests and market conditions.

The funding breakdown includes several securities, such as STRF, STRC, STRE, STRK, and STRD, with amounts ranging from $710 million to $2.68 billion. The move shows Strategy’s ability to cater to different investor needs and customize offerings. By diversifying funding sources, the company continues to expand its capital base while supporting its Bitcoin accumulation strategy.

Strategy’s capital-raising efforts in 2025 are almost on par with its $22.6 billion raised in 2024, despite being completed in a shorter timeframe. This impressive fundraising pace reflects the company’s strong market presence and continued ability to attract significant capital. With this momentum, the company is well-positioned to further expand its Bitcoin holdings and continue its corporate growth.

Bitcoin Strategy Remains Central to Strategy Inc.’s Growth

Strategy Inc. has long positioned itself as a corporate Bitcoin accumulator, leveraging capital markets to fund its cryptocurrency acquisitions. The company’s Bitcoin-focused strategy has been a cornerstone of its operations, with Chairman Michael Saylor publicly describing Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset. The continued support from institutional investors underscores the growing demand for exposure to Bitcoin through established corporate vehicles.

As of 2025, Strategy holds a massive 649,870 BTC, valued at over $56 billion, according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.net. This makes Strategy the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin by a wide margin, controlling more than 3% of Bitcoin’s total supply. This strategic position enables the company to lead the way in institutional Bitcoin accumulation, cementing its role in the growing digital asset ecosystem.

With the funds raised in 2025, Strategy is well-equipped to continue its Bitcoin expansion. The company’s ability to repeatedly access large-scale capital markets ensures that it can maintain its competitive advantage and liquidity. As demand for Bitcoin exposure grows, Strategy is poised to remain at the forefront of the corporate Bitcoin market.
