    Michael Saylor, le nouveau roi du bitcoin

    D’aspirant pilote au rêve brisé à milliardaire parmi les plus influents du monde. Voilà comment on pourrait résumer l’histoire de Michael J. Saylor, l’homme qui a mis toutes les économies de son entreprise dans du bitcoin.

    Au début, il n’y croyait pas. En 2013, l’entrepreneur de la tech envisageait un futur sombre pour l’actif échangeable sur une blockchain. Il affirmait sur X que les « jours du bitcoin sont comptés ».

    Douze ans plus tard, sa société en est l’une des plus grosses détentrices, avec 582 000 bitcoins, soit l’équivalent de 62,5 milliards de dollars. Avec sa barbe blanche de trois jours et son air fatigué, difficile de croire que Michael J. Saylor est assis sur une fortune. Pourtant, il possède 9,9 % des parts de sa société ce qui a permis à CNN d’évaluer son patrimoine à 10 milliards de dollars. De quoi comprendre son amour pour la cryptomonnaie dont il expose le logo sur la plupart de ses habits. Pourtant, rien ne prédestinait ce fils de militaire ayant grandi sur des bases américaines à devenir un milliardaire et un apôtre des actifs numériques.
