The trouble with seeing the future is that those that can often think it’s a lot closer than it really is. How many science fiction movies from the 1970s predicted dystopian 1990s? The list is long. The reality is that things happen much more slowly in real life because, for things to happen, people have to go along with them – and people move a lot more slowly than futurists imagine.
Why am I prattling on? Well, because bitcoin is proving my predictions spot on, but it’s taking a long time to do so. You can see my past predictions here on Forbes, along with multiple charts, and most of them look like the current one.
It’s just the time access that is off.

Not bad for a year old prediction. If you want to browse all my old BTC posts, going back through time, you’ll see this kind of prediction over and over again.
So what is my update? I’m still a bear, but I’ll include a bullish fever dream as well. Charts are best viewed as route maps. If the future pans out along predicted lines, they guide you along a high-potential road ahead. So far, my bearish maps have performed well.
So here is the latest chart, plus the bullish idea for those stubborn bitcoin maxis:

Of course, as we have seen throughout this four-year cycle, the narrative “toffee” is long-winded and complicated, so my “Duh, it’s the four-year cycle again for the umpteenth time” thesis goes down like a lead balloon.
But pull up the chart and go back, and back, and back – and there it is. It takes a big reason to justify a detour.
Will I buy in under $40,000? I might consider starting a small DCA position, but more likely not. At $30,000, I’ll be tempted, but frankly, I might be looking elsewhere in cryptoland. And when we get there, I’ll tell you here.
By the way, why not say hi below or on my YouTube channel? It would be good to hear from you.
