Lagos, Nigeria — 16 December 2025— The Africa Bitcoin Conference (ABC), one of Africa’s leading global platforms advancing conversations on Bitcoin, financial inclusion, and the continent’s role in the future of global finance, has announced the appointment of Dr. Nabila Fash as its new Executive Director.
Dr. Fash, who has been instrumental in building the Africa Bitcoin Conference from its early foundations, officially assumes the role following multiple successful editions of the conference that have positioned ABC as a trusted convening space for policymakers, innovators, investors, and global partners.
Speaking during her acceptance, Dr. Fash described the appointment as both an honour and a responsibility. “This is not just a new role; it is a commitment to legacy,” said Dr. Fash. “We did not build the Africa Bitcoin Conference to host conversations alone. We built it to create systems, credibility, and platforms Africa can stand on, globally and unapologetically.”
She further outlined her vision for the institution: “Africa does not need saving. It needs infrastructure, policy alignment, and narrative ownership. As Executive Director, my focus is clear: to deepen ABC’s global relevance, strengthen its institutional impact, and ensure Africa remains an active architect of its financial future.”
The appointment has been endorsed by Farida Nabourema, human rights advocate, ABC Convener, and Dr. Fash’s predecessor, who expressed full confidence in the leadership transition.
“Nabila has been part of the Africa Bitcoin Conference story from the ground up,” said Farida. “She understands the mission, the responsibility, and the power of this platform. I trust her leadership completely and know she will carry ABC forward with clarity, strength, and vision.”
Farida also called on the global ABC community to support Nabila in her new role.
“Leadership transitions are moments of renewal,” she added. “I ask our partners, sponsors, speakers, and community to give Nabila the same trust, collaboration, and support that has defined ABC’s success over the years.”
Under Dr. Fash’s leadership, the Africa Bitcoin Conference will continue its evolution from an annual event into a legacy institution focused on long-term dialogue around financial infrastructure, inclusion, policy, and Africa’s narrative sovereignty in the global financial system.
