ensex Today, Nifty 50 | Stock Market Live Updates – Find here all the live updates related to Sensex, Nifty, BSE, NSE, share prices and Indian stock markets for 28th July 2026.
Indian benchmark indices traded largely flat at noon on Tuesday after paring early gains, following the previous session’s rebound driven by a sharp fall in crude oil prices.
At 1.31 p.m., the Sensex was down 49.60 points, or 0.06%, at 76,786.18, while the Nifty 50 slipped 13.95 points, or 0.06%, to 23,982.00.

Investor sentiment, however, remains cautious ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s policy decision, with markets increasingly pricing in the possibility of a rate hike. Global cues are mixed as easing geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran have pushed Brent crude lower, while uncertainty over negotiations continues to keep risk appetite in check.
Asian markets weakened sharply after a global semiconductor selloff, with South Korea’s KOSPI and Japan’s Nikkei falling as investors worried about rising competition from China and the AI investment boom.
Domestically, quarterly earnings remain a key driver, with Bharat Electronics, Tata Power, Coal India and IndiGo among stocks in focus. Foreign institutional investors remained net sellers, while domestic institutional investors continued to provide support through sustained buying.
Key technical pointers: Nifty 50
* Trend remains positive: Nifty is holding above the 24,000 mark after Monday’s strong rally, indicating underlying buying interest.
* Immediate resistance: The 24,050-24,100 zone remains a crucial hurdle. A decisive move above 24,100 could pave the way for 24,200.
* Key support: Initial support is at 23,900. A break below this level could trigger an extended decline towards 23,800.
* Market breadth in focus: The advance-decline ratio of 29:21 remains positive, but any deterioration in breadth could lead to profit booking.
* Range-bound trade likely: Until Nifty decisively breaks 24,100 or slips below 23,900, the index is likely to remain range-bound.
* Futures signal caution: Nifty July Futures faced resistance at 24,050 and may witness an intraday dip towards 23,950-23,900 before attempting another rebound.
* Buying on dips: Traders may consider accumulating on declines near 23,940-23,910, while maintaining strict stop-loss discipline below 23,870.
* Bullish trigger: Sustained trade above 24,100 would reinforce bullish momentum and open the door to 24,200.
* Bearish trigger: A decisive break below 23,900 would weaken the near-term outlook and could accelerate selling towards 23,800.
* Intraday strategy: A “buy on dips” approach remains favourable as long as 23,900 holds. Failure to hold this support would warrant caution.

“Despite volatility in crude oil prices and elevated input cost pressures amid West Asia tensions, industrial production remained resilient, with IIP growing 5.1% YoY in May 2026.
We expect June IIP growth to remain decent supported by robust electricity generation, improving core sector activity and continued strength in infrastructure-related manufacturing. However, manufacturing activity is likely to be steady as growth may not be broad-based amid mixed consumer demand, higher raw material costs and uncertainty in global crude oil prices.”

Gold edges higher as yields soften and hostilities pause
Deveya Gaglani, Senior Research Analyst – Commodities, Axis Direct.
Gold prices edged slightly higher on Monday, supported by weaker U.S. Treasury yields as investors assessed inflation expectations following a sharp decline in oil prices amid a pause in Middle East hostilities. After 13 consecutive nights of U.S. strikes on Iranian targets, President Donald Trump halted the bombing campaign late Friday. Iran also refrained from retaliatory attacks against neighbouring countries hosting U.S. military bases over the weekend, easing geopolitical tensions. Comex Silver pulled back from the day’s high of the $60 level and settled on a flat note around $58.3. Prices are struggling to sustain above the $61 level mark as a strong dollar index has dented its sentiment. Traders are waiting for the outcome between the U.S. and Iran, which may lead to a directional move in the counter. This week’s Fed statement and Advance US GDP data print are expected to keep prices volatile. Copper Futures held steady above $6.3 per pound after experiencing sharp volatility last week, as easing tensions in the Middle East improved overall market sentiment. The U.S. and Iran suspended military strikes over the weekend amid renewed diplomatic efforts, with President Donald Trump reportedly open to restarting peace negotiations, supporting risk appetite across industrial metals.
WTI Crude Oil prices plunged more than 9% as signs of de-escalation between the U.S. and Iran erased much of last week’s geopolitical risk premium, which had briefly pushed Brent crude toward the $100-per-barrel mark. An Iranian official told Reuters that Tehran would suspend retaliatory actions as long as the U.S. maintained its pause in military operations. However, both sides cautioned that they remain prepared to resume military action if negotiations fail.

Memory Chip Meltdown – China’s CXMT Debut Triggers Global Tech Selloff
Wall Street closed mixed Monday. The Dow added 0.5%, the S&P 500 was flat, and the Nasdaq slipped 0.2% as chip weakness offset gains elsewhere. Nvidia fell 5%, SanDisk plunged 11%, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index dropped 4.2%. Micron fell 5%.
Enterprise software and AI-adjacent names rotated higher. Salesforce jumped 7%, Microsoft rose 3%, and Palantir gained 7% to $131 ( still down 26% YTD despite raising FY2026 revenue guidance to 71% growth).
The KOSPI tumbled as the global chip rout deepened, with U.S.-Korea tech correlation at its highest since 2021.
SK Hynix plunged more than 10%, while Samsung Electronics fell over 8%.
The selloff was triggered by ChangXin Memory Technologies’ (CXMT) blockbuster Shanghai Star Market debut — shares surged roughly 500%, valuing China’s largest DRAM maker at $540 billion.
DRAM chips supply temporary memory for smartphones, PCs, servers, and AI systems. The debut, paired with progress in domestic chipmaking equipment, stoked fears that Chinese memory chips could reach top-tier customers like Apple sooner than expected, triggering sector-wide selling despite strong YTD gains across the group.
S&P 500 futures have extended losses in Asian trading today as investors positioned for a heavy week of mega-cap earnings and the Fed’s rate decision.
Trump confirmed ongoing talks with Tehran, though shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains well below normal levels.
Porsche announced 5,000 additional job cuts following a sales collapse in China.
Indian rupee appreciated sharply by 65 paise to close at 95.91 yesterday, emerging as Asia’s top performer, supported by favourable global cues including a sharp drop in crude oil prices, a softer dollar index, and renewed risk-on sentiment.
Nifty snapped its five-session losing streak yesterday, rallying 228 points to close at 23,995.
From Friday’s low of 23,606, Nifty has recovered more than 400 points. The recent swing low of 23,606 is an important support, as it aligns with the rising trendline connecting the April swing low of 22,182 and the June swing low of 23,070.
For momentum to strengthen further, a decisive close above 24,200 is essential. On the downside, immediate support is seen at 23,800.
Indian markets are set to open lower today, as plunging Asian markets weigh on sentiment.

Market analysis by Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com: July 28, 2026
Bitcoin was trading around $65,000 on July 28, extending its recovery from the early-July low near $57,750 but continuing to struggle below a key resistance zone. The world’s largest cryptocurrency has regained more than 12% from its monthly low. However, the rally has lacked strong conviction. Bitcoin is still struggling to make a decisive move above the $68,000 level. Institutional inflows remain subdued. Macroeconomic uncertainty is also keeping investors cautious and limiting risk appetite.
The immediate technical picture remains finely balanced. Bitcoin has established $64,000-$65,000 as its first support zone, followed by stronger support around $62,500-$63,000 and the psychologically important $60,000 level. The $66,800-$68,000 range is the first major resistance level for Bitcoin. If Bitcoin moves above this range, the next key level is $69,000-$70,000. A strong close above $69,000-$70,000 could indicate fresh bullish momentum. It would also improve the medium-term market outlook.
Institutional demand has softened after a strong run earlier this month. US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted robust inflows during mid-July before witnessing two consecutive sessions of sizeable outflows last week as investors booked profits near resistance. Although cumulative ETF inflows remain positive for the month, the pace has slowed recently. This moderation has limited Bitcoin’s upward momentum. As a result, Bitcoin has been unable to break above key resistance levels despite improving market sentiment.
On-chain metrics remain considerably healthier than price action suggests. More than 60% of circulating Bitcoin supply has remained dormant for over one year, while exchange reserves continue to hover near multi-year lows. This indicates that long-term holders are largely unwilling to distribute coins despite recent volatility. The persistent decline in exchange balances continues to reduce immediately available selling supply, providing structural support even as ETF demand softens.
Among large-cap cryptocurrencies, Ethereum remains one of the stronger large-cap cryptocurrencies. It is trading near $1,893 and is performing better than most major altcoins ahead of the Fed meeting. Solana is also performing better than Bitcoin, gaining around 1.7% during the session. Meanwhile, XRP and BNB are moving in line with the overall market as investors remain cautious.
The market’s immediate focus is the 29 July Federal Reserve policy decision, where futures markets overwhelmingly expect policymakers to leave interest rates unchanged. Investors will instead scrutinise Chair Jerome Powell’s guidance on the timing of potential rate cuts. Markets will next watch the US GDP, inflation, and jobs data. These reports could affect the US dollar and market liquidity. This could also impact cryptocurrencies and other risk assets.
Our advice: For investors, patience remains the prudent approach. A convincing move above $68,000-$70,000 would strengthen the bullish case, while a break below $64,000 could trigger another test of lower support levels. Until macro uncertainty eases and institutional demand regains momentum, staggered accumulation and disciplined risk management remain preferable to chasing short-term price swings.

Zaggle partners with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles to digitise fleet payments for BharatBenz operators
Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services Ltd (NSE: ZAGGLE | BSE: 543985), a spend management and SaaS-led fintech platform, has partnered with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) to build a digitally integrated payment and credit ecosystem for BharatBenz fleet operators across India.
As part of the partnership, Zaggle will deploy its Zaggle Zatix Fleet Expense Management Platform, integrated with the Zaggle Corporate Credit Card Program, for DICV’s fleet partners. The solution aims to help fleet operators manage operating expenses more efficiently through a technology-driven platform.
The collaboration combines DICV’s extensive BharatBenz dealer and service network with Zaggle’s AI-powered spend management and payment solutions to improve financial control, operational efficiency and working capital management for fleet businesses.
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles supports a nationwide BharatBenz ecosystem with more than 400 service touchpoints and over 200,000 commercial vehicles operating on Indian roads. The initiative is expected to simplify administrative processes by enabling faster, more transparent and digitally managed transactions across the BharatBenz network, allowing fleet operators to focus on improving vehicle uptime and operational efficiency.
Eligible fleet operators will gain access to the Zaggle Zatix platform and the Corporate Credit Card Program, enabling seamless servicing and maintenance payments, real-time expense tracking, policy-based spending controls, digital reconciliation and easier access to credit.
