The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) meeting has called for a livelihood rubber price for farmers as a key strategy to sustain the natural rubber industry.

Inaugurating the meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Dato’ Yusran Shah Bin Mohd Yusof, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, emphasised the important role of ANRPC in mobilising the rubber industry, especially in generating income for smallholders and strengthening cooperation and preparedness among each ANRPC member country in facing global challenges so that the rubber industry remains sustainable, competitive and resilient for the future.

In the executive committee meeting, Dato’ Razali bin Mohamad, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, said that these meetings aim to foster collaboration and drive innovation in the natural rubber industry, ensuring sustainable growth and addressing emerging challenges. “Together, we are shaping a resilient future for natural rubber,” he said.

The Industry Matters Committee meeting addressed critical issues and strategies including sustainability and traceability, rubber tree leaf diseases and price volatility in global market. Multiple sessions facilitated in-depth discussions, promoting collaboration among member countries. High-level sessions promoted cross-border collaboration and spotlighted natural rubber’s green credentials, especially its relevance in climate forums like COP 30.
