    Halloumi, bakery products and concrete drive Cyprus industrial sales growth

    The Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat) this week published detailed data on sales of locally produced industrial commodities for 2023.

    Total sales of industrial commodities produced by local units reached €4.60 billion in 2023, marking an increase of 7.3 per cent compared with €4.29 billion in 2022.

    Among key products, halloumi cheese sales reached 41,900 tonnes with a value of €338.1 million, while pasteurised milk and fresh cream totalled 60.7 million litres, valued at €85.9 million.

    Fresh fruit juice sales amounted to 71,100 tonnes with a value of €49.0 million, and prepared meat products recorded €50.4 million in sales.

    Fresh bakery and pastry products were sold for €351.4 million, while beer sales reached 42.3 million litres with a value of €53.8 million.

    Wines totalled 11.9 million litres, valued at €39.5 million, and soft drinks amounted to 13.5 million litres, worth €20.5 million.

    Bottled mineral water sales reached 190.7 million litres with a value of €39.9 million. Chemical products were sold for €84.0 million, and pharmaceutical products and preparations recorded €351.4 million in sales.

    Construction-related products also saw significant sales, with cement and clinker reaching €158.2 million, while ready-mixed concrete totalled 3.2 million cubic metres with a value of €247.7 million.

    The data provides a comprehensive overview of Cyprus’ industrial production, covering both quantity and value where possible.
