    Mayors to approve budgets, tariffs and standards for utilities

    Mayors to approve budgets, tariffs and standards for utilities

    AKIPRESS.COM – The mayors will approve the budget, tariffs and standards for utilities and goods. The respective order has been signed by President Sadyr Japarov.

    The presidential order introduces changes into the order on dissolution of local councils and scheduling local elections of September 6, 2024.

    Such decision was made to ensure uninterrupted functioning of critical public infrastructure and systems, provision of services to population during preparation and conduct of local elections.

    Until start of work of local councils, the mayors of the cities and towns with changed boundaries as a result of the administrative and territorial reform will be given the right to introduce local fees, to approve changes in the budgets earlier approved by local councils, tariffs and standards for consumption of utilities and goods provided by local government bodies, public transport fare, order of provision of municipal property for investment projects. 

    The given decisions of the mayors will be subject to approval by newly elected local councils.

    The order enters into force since the date of its official publication.
