As reported by the country’s national news agency Antara, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said before the inclusion of tin and nickel commodities into the system, it succeeded in preventing the leakage of state revenues from illegal mining methods and evasion of payment of state revenues worth IDR3.47 trillion ($270 million).

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that Indonesia stood to gain income worth IDR5 trillion-10 trillion from the inclusion.

He said he believes that integrating tin and nickel commodities into Simbara can make entrepreneurs more orderly in doing business in the mineral sector.

The minister explained that Simbara can prevent the leakage of state revenues from illegal mining methods and evasion of state revenue payments.
