    City of Palm Bay Selects Gabriel Bowden as the New Director of Utilities

    BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay is pleased to announce the selection of Gabriel Bowden as the new Director of Utilities. Gabriel Bowden officially started his role on July 1.

    City Manager Suzanne Sherman was excited to welcome him into this role, stating, “We are pleased to welcome Gabriel to our team of dedicated employees and look forward to his leadership of the Utilities Department as we work to meet the needs of our growing community. Gabriel’s knowledge and experience in the water and wastewater industry will serve him well as we maintain safe and reliable services and expand water and wastewater plants and related infrastructure throughout Palm Bay.”

    Director Bowden brings extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge to the position and expressed, “I’m excited about collaborating with our excellent team to directly impact improving people’s lives in our community. Utilities are vital in everyday life, ensuring clean water and effective wastewater management. By optimizing these services, we can enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and institutions alike.”

    Bowden’s extensive water and wastewater utility management knowledge, including leading production teams, managing distribution and regulatory environments, driving continuous improvement, and implementing new high-tech methodologies, will greatly benefit the City of Palm Bay.

    About Director Bowden

    Palm Bay Utilities Director Gabriel Bowden comes to the City with over 20 years of experience, progressing from various customer service center roles through plant management, assistant director, and most recently, management of North Texas Municipal Water District.

    His specializations in leading and growing diverse teams, managing superior-rated water treatment plants in high-growth cities, and assisting in highly successful asset management programs, design standards, and master plan updates make him a perfect fit for our growing Utilities Department.

    Bowden holds an MBA from Lindenwood University and Class B Water Treatment and Distribution Licenses. He recently received TOP’S Honors Directors Award from Partnership for Safe Water in North Texas. Bowden will be relocating here with his wife, two children, and three dogs.
